Episode 403: The Human Side of Tech Leadership with Bryan Muehlberger

Bio: Bryan Muehlberger spent three decades building the technology behind brands people know — Red Bull, Beachbody, Vuori — serving as Chief Information Officer over global platforms, nine-figure budgets, and organizations of 500+. He was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2024. Today he is Founder and Global CIO/CTO of Lumiyo and founder of CXO/RISE, an invite-only peer community for senior technology executives.

On November 14, 2019, his fifteen-year-old daughter Gracie was killed in a mass shooting at her high school. What Bryan found on the other side of that rupture contradicted everything his career had taught him about control: resilience isn’t a skill you build. It’s hardware you already have. His story is the subject of All the Empty Rooms, winner of the 2026 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short, now streaming on Netflix.

That conviction — that the answers live in the body, not the plan — now runs through his work as CTO of The Health Institute, a Tennessee-based functional health company focused on longevity. He speaks to executive audiences about resilience and leadership, and is completing his memoir, Rise Human.

Something Extra: “Faith.”
